Midwest Moonlight

I picked up the pattern book 'Scarf Style' by Interweave Press recently and have starterd on this scarf entitled 'Midwest Moonlight'. I'm using Rowan felted tweed.

Last week my BF and took a trip downtown to Romni Wools. I really have to give him credit because he patiently waited for me outside of Romni while I shopped in a frenzy (20% off all yarn in the month of July) for what seemed like 15 minutes when in reality it was over 45 was like I had been swallowed up in a time warp.

So I took advantage of the sale, spent some savings and walked out with some luxe Rowan yarns, and I feel no guilt.

Branching Out

So it's been about7 months since my last post (shame).

But do not be mistaken, I have not dropped my knititng. Time is proving that this is a crafty hobby that will stay with me into retirement.

I won't go into any excuses as to why I haven't kept up with blogging. But I do have some exciting things on the go, namely a knititng portal. Sounds really sci-fi, it'll be a lot friendlier.

The 'Branching Out' pattern from knitty was my first time working with a lace pattern. It kept me thinking! It was difficult at first, I think I re-started it about 10 times and finally got the hang of it. I'm proud of the end result but would like to try it again in a soft mohair.

ahem...I'm still here... I am feeling guilty for letting so much time pass and not blogging. Somehow I feel a real sense of responsibility to my fans....LOL ...just kidding, quite the contrary really. But I have been knitting ! I'm still working on that kittyville hat...I'm not sure why but it's taking forever, I haven't been so diligent, i must admit. I've also managed to catch this flu virus and my body aches. I'm contemplating not going into work tomorrow and that is rare of me. I rarely get sick and when I do, all I want to do is lie in bed, watch tv and let my DBF take care of me. I'm a lucky girl.
The weather has been uber brutally cold this winter, it's getting to my bones. My mother is in Mexico right now, and i think of her often... ;)
I've been side tracked from blogging because work has kept me busy lately and I am enjoying what I'm doing and that is always good for a capricorn like myself.
As soon as my incredibly soft alpaca earflap hat is close to completion or complete i'll be sure to post.

AP Design Launch !

Check out my WIP web page !

Happy Holidays Everyone!

I am enjoying my time off, although it feels that it is passing all to quickly and I am reassuring myself it is only Tuesday.
I am in desperate need of a new knitting project and in even more need to do some shopping in a LYS. I am LOVING my new Denise's Interchangeable Knitting Needles ! I am thrilled to have all sizes
(5-15 US) both circular and straight needles at my disposal in one compact book.
I'm planning on two projects for this christmas break and into the new year.
The Sophie felted purse. I love it.This will be my first felted project. I'll use Noro Kureyon or Cascade 220 if I can find it here in Toronto. I am so excited ! I have read only great reviews re: this felted bag.
Then, a knit-a-long is starting in the new year for the very Tempting sweater which I have coveted since the knitty winter issue came out.
Happy knitting moments ahead !
